I think this is a known issue in 2.0.x where, under certain conditions,
some IPs are still marked in use. It seems to be triggered by instance
not starting properly (but not only).

Sorry to revive an old bug, but I've recently run into this problem.
Using the following in smb.conf, when I create a file as a remote user,
the Owner's permissions are always set to executable on files (rwxrw-

Tim,
Thanks for getting a test version out! I've been swamped the last few
weeks but I can test it out this weekend and post my results. I also
admit I thought this was a VSFTP patch (from Jamie's note) when I
skimmed it the first time, not a new kernel. Oops :)

manually calling the /etc/network/if-up.d scripts after bringing

Thanks, Michael - that appears to show that the window size has nothing
to do with it.
At this point, I can only suggest watching 'top' while the benchmark is
running, to see if the cpu is a bottleneck when you are getting the poor
results. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in with

Yes, that's right, but there are interfaces not started from
/etc/network/interfaces or Network Manager:
* VMware Workstation / Player installs interfaces starting VMware daemons
* VirtualBox installs interfaces
* KVM may install an additional bridge
* some VPN software installs tun/tap interfaces
