Clint, when shutting down, the console doesn't show much. It shows
killing apache, a few other things, and then it stalls when trying to
shut down rabbitmq. I.e, it doesn't get any further, so sendsigs doesn't
get executed.
It's the 'rabbitmq-multi stop_all' that hangs. Seems it's waiting
forever
You could potentially work around the regex misinterpretation issue by
using some more complex combinations of grep and awk and so forth, but
there's a better reason to not use getent | grep.
If /etc/nsswitch.conf is configured with a user or group database that
doesn't support enumerating users (

I'm using ubuntu 9.10 and was having those messages on /var/log/syslog when
trying to stop mysql.
Added the line "/sys/devices/system/cpu/ r," to the end of "directories
listing" (before the last "}") of /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld and now the
messages stopped... but i can't stop mysql yet.

that there are actually two problems at play here.
Comment #3's log indicates that something was already listening on
rabbitmq's port, presumably rabbitmq. It does not indicate that there

I have tested this on a freshly installed Ubuntu 10.10. I only did "apt-get
install snmp snmpd"
Looks like there are missing MIBs that are referenced by existing MIBs but I
can't find them in any Ubuntu package.
I had to manually copy SNMPv2-SMI SNMPv2-TC and INET-ADDRESS-MI
For us at the university of Oslo, a fix in Maverick only have to show up
with PXE installations, so no new media is needed to make us happy.
