I think you are refering to the "Host" header in HTTP as a way of co-
locating multiple services. In the context of the current Eucalyptus
system this isn't possible to support without the use of the DNS
service. For example, virtual bucket hosting in S3 already works this
way when DNS is enabled
Eucalyptus' web services (on port 8773) support SSL connections since
r1074.1.2 in the 1.6.2 series. You can simply change the URLs in eucarc
to use "https://"; and the server will detect and negotiate an SSL
session.

installation failed anyway.
I explicitly stopped MySQL with the following command:

Peter, i'd say that bug #477437 is more related to your issue than this
one. Since thierman, the original reporter, confirmed that the problem
was fixed after uninstalling bacula, I'm closing this bug. Please,
reopen it if you think otherwise.

I have nominated this for Karmic, in the hopes of getting an SRU out
soon.
We think we have tracked this problem to a very simple fix...ensuring
that the iptables module gets loaded in initial eucalyptus upstart job.
