I installed getlive through the ubuntu 8.10 package manager and it began
installing fine.
Once the install had got to roughly 50% it popped up with a gui wizard
for config but I couldn't be sure which option to go for so used the
cancel button in

display of changes was useless since it doesn't use a monospace font.

For our network using Ubuntu 8.04, Sander Marechal's umountcifs script
works when symlinked as K15umountcifs (i.e. the key is that it is called
prior to K16dhcdbd).

I confirm this bug.
I had to add the missing jar tomcat-dbcp.jar manually copied from another
tomcat 6.
After adding it was successfully loading datasource settings.
And my webapp is fully working.
To solve the problem waiting for a fix, just get the tomcat-dbcp.jar
