You have been subscribed to a public bug: i connected to a remote ubuntu pc (7.10) with a admin account using supported version of ssh (up to date). i simply write "sudo halt" to shutdown the remote machine. the probleme is that ssh-client freeze instead of exiting. i reproduce this many time.

I am seeing this error message very often too, when using sudo. It seems to be caused by the "missingok" parameter on the pam_smbpass line in /etc/pam.d/common-auth, which prevents excessive error logging when pam_smbpass isn't installed, but in turn causes the module to complain about this unkn
