You have been subscribed to a public bug:
i connected to a remote ubuntu pc (7.10) with a admin account using
supported version of ssh (up to date).
i simply write "sudo halt" to shutdown the remote machine.
the probleme is that ssh-client freeze instead of exiting. i reproduce
this many time.
closing the tasks to reopen bugs would create as much noise as closing
those when fixing the issues so you should probably just close those
when fixing the issues

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nagios2
The init script for nagios kills nagios when the user requests the
configuration to be reloaded. Nagios logs that it has received a SIGTERM
rather than the expected SIGHUP.
This appears to be a bug in the nagios2 (2.11-1ubuntu1) packages
interact
Will do so for the remaining perl 5.10 transition.
How to proceed with this bug now?
Invalidate all remaining open tasks (to generate one last mail from this bug)
and reopen new bugs where necessary?
Or continue closing the tasks as they are fixed?

I am seeing this error message very often too, when using sudo. It seems to be
caused by
the "missingok" parameter on the pam_smbpass line in /etc/pam.d/common-auth,
which
prevents excessive error logging when pam_smbpass isn't installed, but in turn
causes
the module to complain about this unkn
the bug tasks should be used when an working on an issue requires
changing several components, not to list a ton of components having a

The same happened for me with opkg, which I installed into /usr/local;
opkg brings its own, incompatible version of update-alternatives, and
that got used by the dpkg maintainer scripts, and hence bails.
