I'm not sure why you should wipe all your data in the first try. For most cases of corrupt system it's only corrupt because of system image and not data and settings. So first you can try without bootstrap or wipe. I posted the two commands fastboot and ubuntu-device-flash exactly for the BQ,

you can use pocket for the bookmarks which is dead handy evernote for your notes really handy i use owncloud bit messier but i do contacts, calendar, task app on ubuntu phone and desktop, recorder for voice notes  documents, photos and music  i think there is a tomboy plugin for owncloud for notes
