I am going to install ubuntu mobile on nextus 4, and first all I am
going to install saucy on an Intel i7 laptop 64-bit, but could not
find 64-bit intel desktop image on http://releases.ubuntu.com/saucy/.
There are images for 64-bit amd desktop or 64-bit intel server, which
one I should downl

Also is there a way to back up/restore your personal data? (I still have to
carry my old phone with me because I am not aware of a function to back up all
of my contacts and/or move them to Ubuntu Touch)

Not possible yet - you can do a phablet-flash --bootstrap to bring the
phone to pristine state.

Are there any current plans and/or work-in-progress on enabling Ubuntu
Touch "flipped container" model for x86 Android? (Android 4.4 on x86 is
available on AOSP now)
