Are there any current plans to include wireless AC support in ubuntu
phone/touch?
I feel this would help make ubuntu phone competitive in the phone OS
market by beating many mainstream OSes to supporting it.

This is great, I had the same error and was talking about it here on the

Hi guys
After testing some of my Ubuntu Touch apps, I thought, that if any

I think he's saying that swipes make sense on a touch interface like a
tablet or a phone but make less sense on a desktop for a perfect example
look at the start screen for windows 8. It works great on a tablet but
desktop usage leaves much to be desired.

Since they are clearly labeled "Ubunut Phone Core Apps", I don't get what's
the problem. They're not intended to work like that on the desktop.

I can't remember if it was a vUDS or here on the mailing lists, but there
was a discussion about that. The "options" method was preffered.
I think the best thing for desktop is to put everything from toolbars to
the global menu. It's quite visible there.

What do you mean by, Ubuntu won't use Java? Java has been the major multi-core
programming language, the platform for smartphone and "dumb-phones" apps, and
has come with Ubuntu by default, for a long time now. So will Java, and apps
like LibreOffice now be unsupported? Will we have to use Javas

Java is hardly the major multicore programming language. Let's get that out
of the way first. Also, libreoffice has been rewritten into C++ over the
last few years. If any Java remains, it is rapidly becoming
inconsequential. I do agree it has been the dominant platform for dumbphone
apps, but that

Glad it could be of interest. I needed it for my Nook Build, but that
