One thing missing there are static launcher quicklist actions, which are
also stored in .desktop files.

Hi David,
First of all, thanks for bringing this up, you're definitely right in
saying that this is key :) A few questions:
1) Do we have a plan for the legacy deb-packaged apps we have on the image
(or do we just plan to get those as clicks ASAP?)
2) Would inline translations have any effect on

Does this imply that the recommendation for .desktop files should also
change? If scopes are slow to load with .mo files, wouldn't the same
apply to .desktop files? Or maybe the question is what is "wrong" with
scopes that they can't be as efficient as .desktop files?

lol, Diaper app - do we have that yet? It would seem a strategic

Hi all,
Continuing with the topic of internationalization, the next highly visible
UI element is app metadata. On the phone, you'll see this displayed in
different places:
- Click scope: on the list of apps
- Click scopes: on a single app dash page
- Launcher: when long-pressing a Launcher icon

Hi David,
I think those parameters are fine. They don't seem like they will
materially add to any disk space / bandwidth requirements.
Thanks.

Hi Alex,
I guess this will depend on the scope, but to give an example we can take
the click scope:
- Scope code (translations shipped in .mo files): 15 messages
- Scope ini file (assuming we only want to translate the DisplayName key in
the ini file): 1 message
So in terms of space, the inline

Hi all,
As one of the first steps to make the new scopes translatable [1],
yesterday Michał Hruby, Rodney Dawes and I had a call to discuss how to add
internationalization support to scopes ini files. These contain the title,
one of the most visible parts of the scope in the UI, so it's also one o

On a basically fresh install, I found the contacts sync, and was impressed that
you guys have implemented it. It doesnt sync yet though and just spins.
I went to import them via computer and was getting the below. Perhaps they are

on the category to expand and show all results.
