Hi team.
I'm in the process of reviewing Thomas's (Ubuntu-Manual) Advanced Topic
Chapter and I have a quick question regarding the "Opening the terminal"
subsection.
My question relates to the instruction on how to open the terminal, which
is obtained by navigating to Dash -> Applications -> Ter
Hey David...first, thanks for getting started on the editing so early (and
thanks to Thomas for informing you he was done). THIS is the EXACT culture
we wish to promote between authors and editors!
To your question, I think the inclusion of common shortcut key sequences
are perfectly permissible..
How much work would it be to add a couple of pages at the end of the
book, with all of the common shortcuts, and maybe link them back to the
respective sections in the book (if there are sections on that topic)?
Have a great day.:)

P.S. If that's not an option, then I would suggest putti
Well, I'm going to give a +1 to Patrick's idea. I really think that is a great
idea.

What shortcuts would you
I think (im my own opinion) we should keep it to the basics, just for the first
release to see how it fits and works in the manual. (Cut, copy, paste, search,
terminal, etc.)

I easily get overwhelmed with shortcuts every time I hop systems and
applications due to the sheer amount of them, everywhere. Especially
Ubuntu, since with Unity there's a lot of new concepts with the overall
design of the system. I didn't even know you could hold down the super key

I would say just for Unity and linux (or Ubuntu) in general, since if
you look in the menu for most (if not all) applications, it shows the
shortcut for a command there. Plus things like Cut, Copy, Paste, are
universal. So I would include things that in Windows would use the Super
Key, but in Linux
