Hi Jim,
It is good that you mention this. In this spreadsheet [1] you find
up-to-date information on authors and editors. I did not get a lot of
response on my call for editors on our mailing list, so now we will call
for editors through other media.
In the meantime, you may proofread/review ch
Hi Jim,
The last revision I pulled (60) gave me a conflict: SystemSettings.png.
May I ask if you replaced the screenshot I made and pushed by another one?

Hi Jim,
I understand that you are proofreading chapter 2 at the moment. Can you
make the following corrections, please:

Hi Jim,
Thank you for merging the topic into the main file. I have a question
though. Do you think we should have HUD as a separate section in the
chapter? The way it has been implemented in the chapter, it looks like HUD
is a feature of Dash, which is not correct. HUD is a completely different

Thanks! This is exactly what I was asking about!
Go ahead and put me down to edit the dash/search bar/browsing section
(truth be told...with the exception of screenshots throughout the entire
chapter, I've done more editing than authoring). Also, put me down as

It is entirely possible this is what happened. Many screenshots were
missing in chapter two (and still are, but I've already committed to
getting the rest of the shots up by Wednesday). I simply followed the file

screenshot, named t
I'll get Alt+F2 in there in the next rev. Thanks.
With regards to where HUD should go. Yea...I struggled with this one,
too. It has the same type of capability as the Dash (users enter search
string, suggestions appear), but the HUD is MUCH more global in reach than
just the desktop and it appl
Wonderful! Don't work too hard, or you'll get a burn-out ;)
I have put your name in the Editors column for the following sections:
*The Dash / Search bar / browsing files
*Viewing and Editing Photos
*Reading and composing mail
Thanks for all the work that you do!

What happened is this. On May 26 I added screenshots to the Nautilus
section, and pushed them to revision 49 "Screenshots added to section
Nautilus". On May 28 you added screenshots to chapter 2, two of them
being SystemSettings.png and nautilus-home.png, which I had also done in
revision 49. T
Hi Jim,
I think HUD is a part of Unity but not Dash. HUD is not available in gnome
2 or Kubuntu. So its best fitted in second chapter but with a separate
heading.
That's my take on HUD. Feel free to discuss.

Very well. I'll make it so.

Hi guys,
I've been busy the last week as I'm currently visiting the USA. As
discussed at the last meeting, I've put together a short, easy to follow
guide to setting up a virtual machine using Virtualbox on Ubuntu 12.04.
This guide is intended for first time users of Virtualbox and new members

Che,
Thank you very much for this. Its very informative.
I was just finishing up my version this evening!
Can you give me editor rights? I'll add some notes regarding snapshots and
the quick restore feature, if you wish.

Thanks very much!
Ill add in the text and the screenshots in a tick.
For the rest of the team:
These additions will describe how to set up a 'quick restore' session, so
that you can quickly jump back to a clean running state. As described in

Hey team,
Just a quick heads up.
I have finished authoring the changes to the Instant Messaging section of
the manual. These changes were locally merged into Rev 61.
However, I still need to set up and reshoot several screenshots to better
illustrate the different sections of the Unity bar.
