I believe the sidebar contents is overused as well. I'm not sure we have a solid understanding of when the sidebar should be used. Some use it to reference other materials/websites; others use it to add more detail to the paragraph. If we're writing our paragraphs correctly, all pertinent content

One thing I have noticed about the manual, being relatively new to the team, is that we use technical terms a little too often. For example, instead of maybe saying "your settings are fetched from Ubuntu One" we might say "please wait while your settings are downloaded from Ubuntu's server farms".
