Hehe, probably just like when i changed my plan over to a new one, it took
three months and so i eventually just got my mate(who used to work for this
isp) to go down and fiddle at the local exchange, after he did that i was on my
new net plan within minutes.

Well, there is one more way, you could do sudo nautilus in the terminal and
then browse to and execute the same bash script.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I've been absent the last couple of days. We're in the middle of
changing our internet + phone plan to another company and it's proving more
troublesome than anticipated. Internet at our house is still down, should be
up in a few days.
Don't forget, alpha release on Wednesday.
I have tired all of those methods changing Karmic to Lucid where
necessary. Sill no luck, thanks for the idea.

Hey,
You can use the GUI by just browsing to
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh in nautilus and double clicking that
bash script. also, i can play dvds in totem no problem.

Hi,
I have tried adding the medibuntu respository and installing libdvdcss2,
it doesn't work. running sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
appears to pull the libdvdcss2 package from mediubuntu.

I can use totem to play DVDs on all of my PCs. The installation of the
codecs via mediabuntu has always worked flawlessly for me. Any of the
methods at
http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Karmic#DVD_Playback_Capabilityshould
work.

Hi,
I am writing the totem section but can't get a DVD to play in Totem! I
can't use the menus, therefore can't start the dvd.
When I install Ubuntu I install vlc, ubuntu-restricted-extras,
libdvdread4, and run sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
the same DVD plays in vlc
