LibreOffice just rolled out a bunch of updates. Included were big changes
to the Elementary icon style. I do not like the changes. It feels like a
whole different style, one that I am not comfortable with. There are no
other icons I have seen that I like.
I realize time moves on. But I t

If a user is tired of clutter, they can drag and drop redundant icons into
a folder.
Thanks,

You guys are great. This is why open source is awesome.

Thanks, guys. I was able to update-proof my launcher by putting it in
~/.local. Now we just need to idiot-proof it. We need to make this launcher
discoverable and usable by the average end-user, without editing any files.
The workaround I suggested for the individual who burdened all of us with

I have struggled with this issue because all those non-European fonts (like
Gubbi and Kacst1) clutter up my font selection menu in LibreOffice. Some of
them are very nice fonts, but I will never have the expertise to take
advantage of them. And LibreOffice is "gullible" toward fonts--it does not

I have no idea why Canonical can't set up your default font packages based
on your locale. It's trivial.

I have noticed over the past year or so that some of the options for the
Hebrew keyboard layout are no longer available in the base release. I am
referring specifically to the Tiro (Biblical) Hebrew keyboard, which allows
one to type accents and vowel points. The only keyboard now installed by

Thanks for checking this concern so thoroughly.

In the default install, there is no longer a switch to hide icons on the
desktop. It used to be in Gnome-Tweaks and there was an extension named
Desktop Icons NG (DING) that also had it. The option has been deprecated
from both. I found it, but I'm not telling you where, because I'm afraid

Yes, that works. I was looking for a way to disable the icons THROUGH the
extension, assuming that I couldn't do it through the desktop.

I don't think it's as dismal as all that. I don't think it's an "I don't

on an attitude of volunteer cooperation. People are developing these apps
