I try to install the TurtleArt in Synaptic and only have the version 98..I have
the latest sources (of precise pnagolin)...The latest Turtle are 138!

For me this works:
export UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0
and after execute ./opt/eclipse/eclipse
Others problem I solved changing the GTK theme.
