Somehow between Gutsy and Hardy (I'm guessing with the new CUPS GUI), a
regression was introduced where no HP scanners work with Hardy. These
were probably the easiest scanners to get going before, and because
they're attached to the very-compatible HP printers, I'm sure a *lot* of
people have the

Applets that have transparency show thin white borders. I'm still
looking into what else is not working properly, but there are definately
issues.

After today's Hardy updates, this dialog doesn't show up. I double-click on
any of these, and nothing happens. Open-with in the context menu still works
though. Changing the default appl

Both are betas and both use PulseAudio.
Why is it that it works out of the box in Fedora but not in Ubuntu?
All things being equal, I *much* prefer Ubuntu but not having sound
doesn't make things equal.
This is driving me mad.
I just did (yet another) fresh install of Hardy yesterday with the

It's not mine, but it describes my problem. I added my notes confirming
it.
This bug was filed on 28 December 2007. And it's still "undecided".

Hi!
Saw your upload of the new ia32-libs!
Wouldn't adding a /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so be
a much better solution than having to use padsp every time? Then alsa
would simply work in 32-bit apps. As suggested in bug #182731 which is
a dupe of #210572, and #182731 is IMHO the b
