Compiz limits its redraws usually, the benchmark plugin has an option
to temporarily disable the "frame limiter" whilst benchmarking. Check
that this feature hasn't been disabled in Compiz's settings.

While on Hardy, using Compiz Benchmark tool I was able to register 300-250 FPS
on my nVidia 8400MG.
But in Intrepid it only achieves a max of 50FPS.
Even on 3D games I have lower FPS.
Any reason for this?
Also on Video playback (mostly DivX/XviD, using totem) I can see distortion
