There is no need for an end user to use a CLI in a functioning ubuntu.
Installing almost everything is possibly graphically, the only real exception
would be compiling from source, which is a rarely needed thing these days.
Personally I prefer doing most admin tasks via a CLI. A GUI is easier

There is absolutely no need to use the command line (except in very
special circumstances). You can install new applications from the
menu: "Applications -> Add/Remove..." or, if you want a more advanced
tool, "System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager".
