Hello buddies, I used ubuntu for about 6 moths, and I can use compiz on hardy
with my via vn896 video card. But what happen after installing Jaunty on my
laptop?, I can not use compiz. May be someone can help me?

Hardy has xserver-xorg-video-via but it doesn't work well, so I installed
another driver for my via vn896, the driver is downloaded from
http://linux.via.com.tw/support/downloadFiles.action
The driver works well in hardy but the lcd backlight does not turned on
automatically when gdm start.

I think, it is pppd bug, pppd group should be dialout by default, not
dip. Maybe pppd group in ppp package is dip too, then it should be
changed to dialout. When I need to customize Ubuntu live cd, I should

I interested to play Spiral Knights game in Ubuntu, this game support
fullscreen playing, however the game return windowed after closing. So,
I should reconfigure the game to be in fullscreen every time before
playing. It was annoying, and it happen in Natty with Unity Session
