There has been movement on this.
I removed the blank file from the ~/.ubuntuone/Purchased from Ubuntu One
I then placed all the purchased music back into the folder, now the
files seem to be half synced to my system.
There is a screen shot of where it stuck at now.
But the music has now appeare
whoops that was the wrong file

i agree. Changing the name serves no useful purpose. The schedulers full
name should be used for clarity. Take it up with the dev if its a real
issue, he may change it.

im getting the same thing, but after ubuntu logo i get a broken blue
line in the middle of the screen, then some flickering the xsplash seems
to kick in.
i have the same xsession errors as op.

before when using a 1000hz kernel, which is why i asked.

Right managed to sort the problem, after 3 years of trying.
My laptop only has one hard drive but enabling the raid option in the
bios, manages to fix the problem so i'm marking as solved.

just upgraded to grub2 beta 4 and the problem still persists.
But whilst running the live-cd the drive is accessible and appear to
work fine. Any ideas?

I've managed to reproduce this in other programs, such a lyx it is to do
with resizing boxes inside the program and is likely an xserver error.
No valid against texmaker.

this is affecting me too. Compiz goes mad upon opening chromium.
12.04, 2:8.960-ubuntu1 amd graphics driver. (4000 series gpu).
Changing Vblank in CCSM doesn't improve the CPU usage. Nor does making amdccle
wait for vertical refresh.
Enabling tear free desktop does not have any affect either.

Daniel, an alternative route to go would be to look up the number of
wakeups the Compiz is causing rather than raw CPU usage. Similar to the
output from powertop.
When you mentioned installing the debug symbols did you mean a compiz-debug
package in the repositories or something more?

I just updated to precise proposed. unity 5.12.0ubuntu1.1 and compiz is
FAR better now for me. It is idling around 2% CPU instead of 30% when
chromium is open.

Daniel. You are probably right. It was just odd the that compiz would
only spike with Chromium/Chrome open.
It would be good if one of the other reporters in this bug could try
updating to see if they have the same result.

I just tried the above ppa on raring with a BCM43224. I still get a
kernel panic. You can see the first line of the log is using the OS
driver and then once the wl driver is installed a panic occurs.
