Just had a freeze, i changed from exa to uxa and had several applications open
and was in the process of logging into
my gmail account when it hit.
I have upgraded to Karmic 9.10 and am using the following..

switching from exa to uxa yesterday may 12th caused a freeze with
2.7.0 and since the time
i was able to finally visit www.woodtv.com with 2.70 i had not had
any issues so it seems that
uxa with my current configuration is certainly not workable without
freeze. exa works well.

This crash happened on its own accord, however i have added
sudo apt-get install gnome-applets-dbgsym=2.26.1-0ubuntu1
so if it starts to re-occur i can do a backtrace.

suite made for intel graphics performance, something generic enough that
all who use it will have something more reliable to report on than

I just got my first freeze in a long time, i had taken a nap, went to the lappy
and was reading Bryce's entry at
2:04pm est, my shock to find it frozen, i had earlier changed my session to
kde, i performed the X Freeze Tests
and will upload the results. (once i recover)

Amazingly i have now been able to run repro.sh without any noticable
problems, I decided to start compiz
from a terminal was was told that my graphics id 00:02.0 VGA
compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 0c) was blacklisted and I thought we
attachments from the recent keyboard freeze. I am not sure this is the same
freeze i had days ago. but sypmtoms
were similar enough

the mic still does not produce sound.
the aplay -L gives:

I took the one usb stick that successully booted to a Desktop and cloned it to
another 8gb usb stick using
dd the result is that i have two usb sticks that can boot jaunty 9.04 so this
should put to sleep any thought

I tried the same thing, removal of the persistent =/file to /file , removal
of "persistent" provides a workaround for it
to boot to the Desktop...good find Chip Piller I hope now this will provide
