I wanted to do that many, many times. I could never get Markus' method
working. I can select the text (by dragging the mouse over it and left-
clicking), but trying to paste into gedit only pastes in what was
previously in the paste buffer, or nothing (if there was nothing there).

I found that treating it like an old console did work.
Select with the mouse, and then
Copy: Control+Insert
Paste: Shift+Insert
I'd still like to see a button added, though.

I found I get sound out the speaker by enabling other things in
alsamixer. I enabled several things at once. I should really go back
and find out just what it was that actually made a difference. Right

It looks like it's sufficient just to un-mute Master Mono, increase the
db gain, and also ensure PCM is un-muted.

Yeah, I didn't mention that I played with them, and several options worked, but
mono makes sense. I saw when I selected it that Master muted, while Master
Mono, only remained on. It did work, but since the device for sound output had
only one option "Internal Audio Analog Stereo "Stereo," I wa

Well, the headphones actually work, but sure anything is worth a try.
I "unmuted" it but it made no difference. Should I set it back or leave it.
