Although the undirect fullscreen windows fix worked for me, I still
believe that my bug has been marked as a duplicate of this one in error.
The author of this bug states that garbage appears on the screen when a
popup appears. In my case I can confirm that it is always the desktop
background.

I should inform the debug team that when I submitted the bug, I was

"../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf". This is a broken link as the
relative path does not exist. This causes resolvconf to improperly

I searched through /var/log/apt history files and resolvconf gets sucked
in as a dependency when I install the proprietary vpn-unlimited
application from Keepsolid.
If I remove resolvconf, is it necessary to re-install or re-configure
any other components? I realize that might break vpn-unlimited
I too have this bug. It has been a constant annoyance for almost 3
months now. I have had to log out and log back in again hundreds of
times, losing many hours of work in the process. Please, somebody do

would seem there is a time limit for entering the Wi-Fi password, if the

So you're saying that kernel 4.9.0 cuts ram usage to 14.04 levels which
would be a reduction of about 600-700 megabytes.

WF-3540 scanner and V500 are working as well as ever. scanimage -L finds
them both; and iscan, simplescan, and xsane run them.

Here is an update to my simple and "unnecessary" script to fix .deb
packages so they install correctly. This version adds moving the
installation of the libraries from /usr/lib/sane to /usr/lib/x86_64
-linux-gnu/sane. Should work well with most Epson driver .deb's, not
sure about others.

libsane1 seems to have completely broken the V500 and partiallty broken
the WF-3540 scanner.
