Experiencing the same problem with BCM4318 on Dell Instpiron 2200. My
critical range even shorter. Speed goes down to 4kb/sec at 3 meters.
There were no such problem when i used ndiswrapper.

Problem still exists for me with Hardy Beta and BCM4318 AirForce One 54g
on Dell Inspiron 2200. Looks like poor sensivity for me:
