Manged to get it working by using 'sudo -i' and then running ./ironkey
I'm not sure this is an ideal solution for newbies and could potentially
put people off. Should this still be considered a bug?

Hi,
running new install of jaunty kubuntu amd64 on an intel CPU. When I plug
in my ironkey (an encrypted USB device), navigate to the linux directory
and try to run 'kdesudo ./ironkey' I get the response "Uknown option

Tried my AGFA e25 flatbed scanner on 8.10 with xsane, but it did not

I select the scanner a dialogue box appears saying: "Failed to open

Not fixed yet!

OK, a bit more googling and I've found a solution at:

Looks like there is a solution, but it doesn't 'just work'.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for taking an interest in the bug. I'm using 8.10 and the package
version is 4.4.2-6ubuntu2. I wasn't sure which package it involved, so
thanks for associating the bug with a package.
Somehow the bug seems to have fixed itself. It had been present on

The important bit was using 'connectedmonitors' only once.
My xorg.conf now looks like:

I'm sorry to hear that. It is very frustrating. Can you post your
tweaked xorg.conf and information from /var/log/Xorg.0.log after booting
up? This might pinpoint where the problem is.

I can only get it to work with the 173 drivers, which is a bit of a step

Public bug reported:
Hi All,
I have a Geforce GT8600 graphics card that was working well with dual

I hit the bug upgrading from 10.10 from 10.04 running AMD 64. I have
multiple SATAs and RAID, but only the one operating system. Very
frustrating as I've left my USB key with xubuntu for such moments at
work! So, in short, the bug still exists.
