Since we can simply disable the ailing plugins, this is a paper cut
candidate. Consider that:
a) This bug represents one of the worst UI design violations (breaking
Fritt's law without any visual indication).
b) From the viewpoint of Compiz developers, this is not a bug (it's by

Sorry for the double-post, but consider that this bug has been bugging
users since 2007 (and counting)! :)

This also occurs with the Desktop Wall plugin. Is this enabled by
default?
To verify, try clicking an application icon on the bottom panel when the
mouse is at the bottom of the screen.

I fixed this problem on my Acer Aspire 5520 Notebook. I had the exact
same problems above, but can now record audio just fine with the
internal microphone from the Acer CrystalEye Camera and Microphone
combo.
NOTE: This problem was experienced in Ubuntu 9.04 and Linux Mint 7. The

After more testing, it seems that the top panel works correctly. On the
other hand, if you move the top panel out of the way (say, place it on
the left) and maximize a window, the top row of the screen will only
accept left clicks. Right- and middle-clicks are eaten and the scroll

Interesting, I never tried to move the mouse at that exact row with the
top panel activated.
Is there a bug report for this? I searched launchpad, but my search-foo

So in the last couple of days kernel 2.6.28-13 arrived. I'd hope it
would make a difference.
I suppose it did. Now my mythbuntu box comes to standstill when copying
files. Transferring a 1G file between two SATA drives took a blistering

Can we be sure about that? The Ubuntu forums would have me believe that it is a
kernel issue..

Another vote for changing the default behavior to not scroll on mouse

positively nauseating.

Most "rookie" users I know, rename files by right clicking and selecting
'rename' (both on WIndows and on Ubuntu). More savvy ones press F2. The
click, wait, then click again pattern falls somewhere in between - I
personally find it annoying and avoid it (hence like Gnome), bu
