you are using the kile version for KDE3. The version for KDE4 is still
experimental.
Kile 2.0.1 works here with reporting bugs on KDE 3.5.5.

I verified this on kubuntu using QT 4.5.
With debian lenny and qt 4.4.3 it does not crash.

we removed the syntax HL files for latex and bibtex from kile because we
decided that we will maintain them in kdelibs to make less confusion.
So I would very interested what the fix is?

maybe Jabref is checking if /home/dfolkins/.lyxpipe.in is a pipe? And
because it is not, rather it is a link to a pipe, and then it just
complains.
You can try to give Jabref the path /tmp/kde-
dfolkins/kileJwM0w6/.lyx/lyxpipe.in (which changes at every kile
restart) and then try again. If t
