It's indeed only XMPP problem, ICQ/AOL works fine. I've recently
upgraded to Hardy from Gu
I also have the problem with a self-compiled 2.6.24.3 from kernel.org and the
BENQ DVD DD DW1620.
System: ASUS P4P800, Intel P4 with HT, 2 IDE devices (DVD and HDD on hda) and
1GB RAM.

Same situation on my machine with the BENQ DVD DD DW1620, as described above by
Patrice.
I've tested 2.6.24.3 and 2.6.25-rc5 from kernel.org without any additional

I`ve got the very similar problem, however, another packages are installed
errorneously.
At first, my dpkg didn`t work at all because it couldn`t completely remove
gparted app after initial installation.
Following advice I`ve found somewhere to insert "exit 0;" line into the
"/var/lib/dpk

Everything worked well with 9.04. I upgraded to 9.10 after I thought

I have had all possible kernels available thru update, also propposed
ones. The latest being 2.6.31-18-generic. I have E220 and none of them
works unless I start without dongle connected to USB and write few lines
to kill few daemons before plugging it to USB. All versions of kernel
have worked aft

just wanted to add that I've just got an kde neon upgrade in which pipewire
0.3.15-0 has been installed. Since that moment there's no sound out of my
soundcard. It is listed when doing a "cat /proc/asound/cards" but not in the
system-tray icons and such.
Uninstalling pipewire is not an option,
