When reducing scale of PNG images the resulting image's file size usually is
usually larger than the original.
Images I resized were wallpapers of 1280x1024. I resized them to 1024x768.

Ok! I just wanted to note that I personally think an LTS release is more
important than a non LTS one.
I guess we should upgrade even if we would rather stick to an LTS.

Setup sensors-applet with at least one Fan monitor and set it's limits. Steps:
- Right click and click Preferences
- Go to sensors tab and mark one of the fan monitors, click on properties
- Set sensor low and high limit values

I have the same issue. Sometimes the system will freeze for a split second
(keys typed don't echo on screen immediately) and afterwards all keys that were
pressed during the freeze are echoed simultaneously with one of them repeating
several times like this: hellooo

My version of Ubuntu is 8.04 Beta with all updates applied.
When I use the hibernate function the computer writes to disk for a while.
It stops after a while but it doesn't switch the computer off (all the lights

I have another problem which might or might not be related to this one. I have
set the action for when the lid is closed to "blank screen".
The problem is that when I open the lid again, the screen won't switch back on.
I'm only describing this issue in case it is related to the hibernation issue

I have APIC disabled from GRUB. If I don't disable it the computer freezes
