I'm trying the intrepid ubuntu and this issue appear then.
In gusty I din't have any problems. Since I upgraded, I have a huge memory
consumption by Xorg. And slowly it increases reatching sometimes 150Mo.
If I disable compiz (and kill the serveur) then my Xorf memory stay around to
30Mo.

The same problem happen to me. I tried lots of reinstallation of the official
and unofficial driver.
It's all my fault :) I wanted to build my own driver module ...
Finally, bored, I've done some hard cleaning :
sudo rm -f /lib/module/[currentkernel]/volatile/nvidia.ko
sudo rm -f /lib/module/[cur
Is there any changes, any care of the developpers ? I don't see any responses.
I switched on debian lenny beacause of this bug, this issue never happened.

Somthing around Hardy ? Quite possible. Anyway I tried some fixes during this
time and I discover an French thread abaout this kind of problem. The advise
was to modify the /etc/hosts, this way :
127.0.0.1 localhost buntuStation
#127.0.1.1 buntuStation
