Mysql is left in an unfinished upgrade state after some upgrade and it's
been like that for some time. Also, there are this messages spamming
journalctl:

I can try, but, shouldn't that be done by the package upgrade automatically? or
at least offer me to inspect the changes in the file when it is going to be

It's not serious that every user of mysql needs to do plumbing every time that
a new release is done.

I think that's not the same bug and this seems more about authentication
for me. I don't get the same symptoms described on those bugs (i.e. log
and the workaround does not work). But I have also checked using other
desktop manager for comparison (lightdm) and it behaves in the same way

In the case that you get a no network machine, you can also try with a
USB stick (if you have one). If busybox works you should have the mount
and dmesg commands avaliable :)

Tested with wine-1.3.7 (maverick) with the following audio findings:
-> Alsa still haves the same problem than before.
-> Some of the other drivers doesn't even seem to give an audio output. Tested
only until the menu screen where usually a background tune is played.
