Bump. I have the same issue as well. It started suddenly (that is, I
didn't perform any updates or make modifications to the sound system to
initiate it) and is persisting across boots. I've also noted that when I
use OSS for audio output, everything works fine. Only ALSA seems to have
a problem.
When I disable acpi (boot with acpi=off), no repeating. But then I have
no acpi, of course.

Sorry about changing the bug report status (I reverted it to original
status again afterward). I realized that the fix was scheduled to be
released in compiz 0.9.11 and Saucy is running compiz 0.9.10.

Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Compiz doesn't behave nicely with citrix
applications so I moved to Unity 2D. I am noticing that in ubuntu 3D I
had 4 hours of battery backup left and in Unity 2D it dropped to 1 hr 20
min !!! I waited for the backup time to stabilize as I thought
Looks like its not just Unity 2D but 3D as well. Although in Unity 3D it
does fall to sane amounts for some time before going insane again. I

should be looking for. If you want additional info, tell me what I
should report.
