I have the same problem.
I've found the problem is on the text codification of the id3v2 tags.
When you codificate them in unicode (utf) Nautilus is no more able to show mp3
image.

and avoids the hang both in plasma-widget-networkmanagement and in the
kde session. However there is still a small issue with the applet not
updating the disconnected status of the vpn connection.

driver in favor of nvidia just because of this usual hangs, even if

use vpn a lot and each time I use it, I end up killing kded4 to have a

I forgot to say that I'm using Kubuntu Maverick with Kde 4.5.2. I solved it for
Okular but I still have problems in Acroread. I guess it is related and I don't
know how to fix it. The message is the following:

/etc/cups/printers.conf and I modified the line with 'Option copies ' to
put 'Option copies 1'. And then stop and start the cups daemon:

is that last time I tried the live cd in virtualbox, it didn't work. I
could burn a cd and try directly though

I have been running the test program in several machines and it seems
that the bug only appears on those with the new intel processors i3 and
i5 (I couldn't test it on i7 as I don't own any one) but machines with
older processors (Intel core2 duo, AMD athlon, opteron, etc.) are not

after reading Olaf description I tried the following:
1.- create a new directory in /usr/share/applications/ the name is not
important I called mine 'others'. You need to be root for this: 'sudo mkdir
/usr/share/applications/'
2.- move all .desktop files in /usr/share/applications/ to t
Same for me, Intrepid uses the new uvesafb for the same function so vesafb
can be blacklisted again. I disabled my vesafb and let uvesafb do the job
and everything went fine.
Just make sure that v86d package is installed, in my case it was not and had
to do it manually.
