Check the amixer setting in gmusicbrowser's setting dialog ->Audio -> advanced
options (in mplayer or mpg321/...).

When closing gnome-session, amarok is killed by a SIGTERM : "pkill amarok".
Under KDE it is closed via dcop : dcop amarok MainApplication-Interface quit
It seems Amarok saves playlists only when closed by dcop.
I guess this is a gnome-integration bug.

libgtk2-trayicon-perl is more or less deprecated, replaced Gtk2::StatusIcon.
But it has a few features that are missing in Gtk

It is caused by the switch to to client-side-windows in gtk.

Well, I could reproduce the bug with Karmic alpha 4 (i386) as my host OS
(outside of VirtualBox). I don't think that VirtualBox is a good trail, but
it's just my 2cents.

version to apply, flashing the firmware seems to have resolved it, at least

It was a new version. If you are able to reflash the same version, it may work,
it doesn't seem to be related to a specific firmware version from what I can
tell, I think something in the process of flashing the firmware enables the
boot device to be updated properly.
