Update: It seems that this problem occurs if the Windows operating
system is not shutdown properly. After doing so resizing of the ntfs
partition works as it should.

Since a day or two, my laptop can not be revived from the suspend mode.
HD spins up, but screen stays black. ctrl+alt+backspace does not help,
nor does ctrl+alt+del. Only thing that works is switching the laptop off
completely.
