Ok, it looked like the postinit of cupsys and rsync were using 'multiuser'
argument of update.rc, which Ubuntu on my computer did not support.
$ cat /etc/issue

i changed the following lines :
cupsys.postinit : line 185 , replace
#update-rc.d cupsys multiuser 19 >/dev/null

But Update Manager still throw the same error, i reported in my original
bug report.

This was a long time ago, I think the transition from Gutsy -> Hardy via
the update manager seems to have screwed something up. If I recall
correctly, a fresh install of Gutsy did not have this problem. I'm on
8.10 now anyway, so I'm afraid I can't give you any more information
about this bug.

The Elan touchpad on my Lenovo Thinkbook isn't being detected, and hence
isn't working.
`sudo acpidump | grep -C3 ELAN` gives me the device's ACPI id:

I am using:
- Ubuntu 19.10
- Nvidia gtx1080
- nvidia xserver installed
- two 4k monitors
I changed the scaling and order of monitors in Ubuntu Display settings.
However when I reboot or logout/login the display settings reset and i
have to set them all over again each time
Updating, I have narrowed down the bug further.
So the settings are not persisted when fractional scaling is used.
If i enable fractional scaling and then change the scaling, display
settings are not persisted across sessions.
If i simply enable fractional scaling, but dont change the scaling
(l

I face the same problem
Keyboard indicator icon keeps disappearing Ubuntu 18.04.1
Gnome shell version 3.28.3 Ubuntu 18.04.1.
As soon as I do screen lock or open up a new application, the keyboard icon
keeps disappearing. I have to press super +Tab see the current keyboard layout
icon again. But
