After plugging in a camera, gvfsd-gphoto2 launches and locks the camera.
This prevents gphoto2 from doing its job, since it does not acces the camera
via GVFS/GIO:
Steps to reproduce:
1) Plug in the camera.
2) 'ps x | grep gphoto' shows gvfsd-gphoto2 and/or gvfs-gphoto2-vol

Same as ulugutz here. Is there at least an option for the kernel module
to print any useful information about the broken files?
(actually, how come I get thousands of these messages but I couldn't
detect any data loss yet? Seems improbable that it shouldn't hit an
important file sometime?)

Didn't edit any files, just upgraded to Oneric through update-manager.
Lightdm seems to want to start X using the "-background" option which my X
doesn't know. The /var/log/lightdm/x-0.log then contains X -help output.
Everything works when using GDM.

rescanning works for me. Very odd, rescanning again without a card inserted
doesn't let the four devices disappear. Maybe it's a hardware bug, like they
don't get switched on by BIOS on boot without a medium?

desktop. It obviously can't be fixed by removing any battery…

Ah now that's weird: it works when I boot with an SD card inserted
(rebooted into windows to check: the reader appears as 4 PCIe devices
for each standard it supports)

I might have the opposite problem: my DiNovo Edge has a bluetooth/hid-
dongle (046d:c709). It has a special button to pair the keyboard with
the dongle, without the system's bluetooth interfering and in previous
versions of ubuntu it was recognized as a USB HID-device, everything
worked. One could
(also, apart from minor inconvenience: the current setup doesn't allow
for boot-time keyboard input, like LUKS passwords. The USB dongle is
already initialized as a bluetooth device, but of course no interface is
available yet to pair it)
