That's true Didier, I have a nVidia card on my laptop so with live tests
I should fall always in 2D launcher.

The faulty patch indeed is only present until Karmic
(205_lock_keys.diff, not 005). I guess that then the best workaround is
to patch the karmic qemu-kvm as in comment #13.

This is what happened to me yesterday, with the same image:
PC with two partition: Root and Home with Hardy Heron 8.04
The Root partition was big enough to be resized to the half dimension and leave
space to create another Root for Lucid Alpha.

I would add my experience here. I share a Dell mini 10v with my
girlfriend and i installed karmic since beta for testing purpose. We
have different users in the pc, so anybody can have his desktop,
settings, etc.
I have UNR launcher on my user and my GF, since beginning, wanted to
switch to normal

But sometimes, specifically after boot, nautilus uses a different theme
than the one that I selected in previous session.
