I solved the problem removing the italian lang pack manually from add-ons,
which wasn't compatible with thunderbird 3.1.4.
thunderbird choosed the right pack after this removing and it works now ok.

I just wanted to let you all know about this last test of mine.
With the "Default" theme the problem shows up.
If I customize the "Default" theme giving it the window border of the "Glossy"
theme the problem disappears.

When connecting my camera, the camera card is mount TWICE, i.e. I get
two camera icons in drivemount applet, and gthumb --import cannot use
the device because it's already locked, I suppose because it's mounted
Doesn't work for me, I have ghtumb 3:2.10.11-0ubuntu1 installed and at
connecting the camera, the gthumb import dialog tells me the device is
locked, i.e. is the SD storage is mounted.
I think gthumb could act as f-spot, i.e. unmounting the storage before
