Contrary to suggestions in the gnome bug report, I see this problem even
when none of the directories are or contain files that are symlinks.

I also get the same problem starting kate and kdebugdialog from the
konsole on Kubuntu Maverick amd64:

Another thing probably related to this (so I didn't raise a new bug) and

If you you have a few windows open on the desktop, say firefox,
terminals, nautilus etc, then lock the screen by clicking the menu on

The /etc/network/interfaces listing in my original comment was
incorrect. I didn't actually have the "restricted" keyword present in
the wireless-key field. Putting that keyword in enables me to connect.
Perhaps there's still a problem related to this bug?

Also had this same problem earlier this evening trying to copy an audio
CD using the built-in option of right clicking audio cd icon on the
desktop and clicking the copy disc option. This is on a completely
vanilla fresh Lucid install with all updates. Only ever gets used for
web browsing, no custo
Just tried installing cdrdao 1.2.3 from source, but that didn't fix the
brasero issue for me, although I am now able to use cdrdao to copy audio
CDs from the command line.
