[Bug 82325] Re: pata_atiixp needed for booting

2008-11-05 Thread nevion
this notebook died for me a year and a half ago, seems like it was the mobo who croaked. I don't know if it was the cause of this or not or just hid hardware problems but at the time pata_atiixp worked fine and ata_atiixp didn't. It was feisty (7.04?) betas and feisty's predecessor at the time.

I seem to be affected by this as well and under similar circumstances (100.14.19 on a 8800gts). I've only recently started using compiz again, but after about a day of normal usage, I have over a gigabyte missing with no process to blame... this didn't happen w/ only metacity.. Removing nvidia mo

[Bug 226063] Re: Missing saa7134_alsa in proposed 2.6.24-17.24

2008-05-04 Thread nevion
Lets get this committed and released! With all the trouble with saa7134-alsa the last month or two I haven't been able to use my card at all during this time. Alot of other people have these cards and the months of problems as well (201431,212271) so I think this deserves a prioritized quick fix

I and a few friends are also having this incredibly aggravating problem and have been watching this bug for a month or so. What is the hold up with releasing the updates? Is there some way I could snag a build of it? It's just a module update, correct? If release policies get in the way, do consi

@aldebx,Matt, I did as you both said with the driver and linux-headers. Upon make, it'll error because net/mac80211/ieee80211_rate.h is not included the headers package (bug? It would've made compiling the driver _way_ easier). So then I installed the linux-source package and used make KSRC=path
