Thunderbird 11.0 (Ubunu 11.10) is also uses the last added account to send a
new create email. This while in I choose the correct account in the From field.

Damm... After some experimentation I know what causes this problem I
also got the solution.
Last week I swished in my account #1 the SMTP server from my own VPS to the one
from Gmail according to account #2. In that case all email send over that SMTP
gets the sender of the Gmail acc

I just found the solution for Thunderbird:
Tools → Options → Advanced → General → Config Editor
changing gfx.color_management.mode=3
This is almost the same as in FireFox
