When starting lightdm, Xorg throws a segmentation fault:

For any poor soul who reads this looking for an answer on how to get
i915 working on 16.04, here you go:
apt-get update
apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-16.04
Then:
sudo vi /etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.alpha_support=1"
sudo u

I have been complete system lockups quite frequently caused by openjdk-6
+ Eclipse. Unsure of the cause. Alt+PrntScrn+REISUB does not even allow
restart, hard power shutdown is required. Please view log. I have many
more of these logs if needed.
