I don't know if this information helps, but here in my Lenovo Y430 the
keys work fine until just a bit after GDM starts. Maybe it's a module or
daemon loaded by Upstart. I think it's worth to check it.

Killing all udev process instances with a "sudo pkill udev" worked for
me, since a new process is created
I can confirm this bug in a Vostro V13 with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

I see that with 'vim' package installed in Lucid Lynx doesn't have
'clipboard' and 'xterm_clipboard' enabled.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense because there's also 'vim-tiny'and
'vim-nox' for people that don't want clipboard (or other features)
enabled. Maybe there's a strong argument against m
