Happening to me also, in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) and Archlinux up to date (July
11, 2011).
In Ubuntu using Gnome Desktop 2.x with Compiz Fusion, in Archlinux using XFCE

Well, this bug also afects me... I bumped into it and tryed it in my firefox...
And bang!!! The system also freezes, exactly as described.
It is pretty annoyng because since I got this bug i'm obcessed w/ that site...
And I go there everytime my system updates.

I have the same problem for a couple of days. Reinstalling yelp or
xulrunner-1.9.2 or -1.9.3-dbg didn't help. Also there is no
"compreg.dat" in /usr/lib/xulrunner*, which is good, as this was
mentioned as cause in previous bug reports for yelps very helpful error
message.

Same for me.
I am on Ubuntu 19.10 with EFI Secure Boot and dual boot with Windows 10
(fastboot/hibernation disabled)

... 5.3.0-26-generic #28-Ubuntu ...
initramfs-tools are still configured to produce a LZ4 image (the
default)

After reinstallation, the issue persists (see dmesg in my last comment)
but my machine manages to boot (with EFI Secure Boot!).

In my opinion, a weak key indirectly (not far from "almost directly")
compromises the whole system.
This is highest possible level Importance / priority.
Security urgency.
That goes for any other weak RSA in any launchpad PPAs.
