I just repartioned my disk, installed 8.10 and rebooted. If I boot 9.04
with the 2.26.27-7 kernel my DVD appears. This kernel presumable came
with 8.10. If I boot with 2.26.28-11, I cannot see my DVD.

I have this problem too. Running `sudo invoke-rc.d libvirt-bin force-
stop`, followed by `sudo invoke-rc.d libvirt-bin start` will get
libvirtd working again.

Have you tried checking the filesystem for errors?
Install the dosfstools package and run
/sbin/fsck.vfat /dev/hda6
as root.
Don't do this with the filesystem mounted.

The value has been rounded down, it should have been rounded up.
The value in the source is longer than displayed in the GUI:

Before dist-upgrading from Dapper to Edgy, xserver-xorg-driver-v4l was
installed.
After dist-upgrading, it is still installed.
It should have been replaced with xserver-xorg-video-v4l which is the new name
for the package.
This causes the v4l module to fail to load into Xor
