I can report a problem with Ubuntu 14.04 (x64, Mate desktop) which is
similar as (but not identical to) what was described initially (bug
description, or, say, posting #0, and first 20 postings relative to
Ubuntu 10.04. Thunderbird version is 31.6.0, and the package is
thunderbird 1:31.6.0+build1-

12.04. My palm is a Tungsten E2.

The failure to Sync that I described in my posting #3 happenned under
Xubuntu 12.04 with a Mate desktop. I tried a Sync on a computer
installed with plain Ubuntu 12.04 and a Gnome 2 desktop (a.k.a. Gnome-

indicator in the notification area, but IT DISAPPEARED AFTER A REGULAR UPDATE.
