Could you give us a few more details regarding what you tried during
these "6 hours" aside from patching? I'd like to continue to work on
this issue, but I've reached the limits of my knowledge. If I could get
a hint as to alternative directions I could take in debugging this

I get this same problem with a USB sound card. In fact, google
indicates it's a standard problem with many such cards and USB devices.
The card I use is a "Koss stereophones USB dongle", you can get one off

It's only two posts and given that information should be easy for you to
reproduce.
Every week or so I find myself needing to delete a /var/log/messages
file that's larger than a gig, most of it NetworkManager output. PLEASE
DISABLE THE DEBUG OUTPUT.

I can confirm this bug on Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 4, fresh install (not updated
yet). I changed the settings in System Settings; To be specific, I
changed the File Associations for plane under text, and when it was
updating the system, it gave me this crash report.

I have a ZOTAC ION ITX-F Mainboard in a standalone, diskless mythfrontend.
Originally I installed Mythbuntu 9.10 which was working fine for me (including
the shutdown feature) but with MYthtv 0.22.
Then I upgraded to Mythbuntu 10
This is not working in my environment either!
Is there any way to work around it (an additional package or a manual build)?

This turned out to be related to /var/lib/gdm being mounted on a ramfs
for some reason with no free space available. Correcting this so that
/var/lib/gdm was no longer resource constrained allowed apt-get install
-f to finish the upgrade process. Please mark this report as invalid.
