A desktop without sound is not very useful to most people. Needless to
say, I moved on from Ubuntu desktop over a year ago.

Logitech USB Speakers do not produce sound. Buttons on speakers
correctly control volume in "Sound Preferences", and speaker light is on
indicating power. Everything seems to be working, but no sound is
produced.
