Confirmed for Ubuntu 11.10 and Dolphin with previews for Microsoft
executables enabled and file size limit set to 500MB. With even single
454.8 MB exe sitting in Download folder everything locks up pretty hard
for a while, although this behaviour seems to be random at first glance.

Can someone explain to dummies what this error means?
Is my filesystem corrupt?
What is the appropriate action to take now? Reinstall?
Try different filesystem? Install without home encryption?

Interestingly deleting the user (including files) with Users
Administration Tool, rebooting and then recreating the same user
(enabling home encryption again of course) with the exact same id fixes
the problem.

Public bug reported:
Installed package "rar", after which progress window did not close
automatically even though the option to do so was selected. Attempt to
close it manually made the window gray and unresponsive. Shortly after
that Synaptic crashed.

Removed all custom repos, enabled natty-proposed, did full upgrade and
restarted. I've lost track of what is what, but at the moment in Krita:

I do see a difference: now pressing on "expresskey" won't jump the mouse
cursor to the upper left corner. This fixes bug #560180
However Krita is still unusable with odd diagonal lines appearing from
(or to) upper left corner of the screen.

Oh, I see ;-)
You didn't tell not to press buttons while moving the stylus! The
recording for bug 762938 probably only contains buttons presses that I
myself pressed frantically, I think I even used to
With xserver-xorg-input-wacom_0.11.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb nothing is drawn on the
canvas no matter how hard stylus is pressed.
Preview in "edit brush settings" does work, but has same old diagonal lines
problem.
Intuos4 in Mypaint works without any problems.

@ j-b-m, by "not change anything" you mean you can draw in Krita?
Strange that we get different results then. I got Intuos4 medium, the
same model as you (if I understood everything correctly here).

Excuse the dumb question, but what exactly should be version 4.7.3 ?
Only packages that I see being version "1.7.3" in Synaptic are related
to xpilot: xpilot-ng/-ng-nlient-sdl/-ng-client-x11/-ng-common/-ng-server
/-ng-utils
All qt4 stuff is version 4.7.2 still

Is this bug dangerous to the integrity of my filesystem (encrypted ext4 /home)?
While using gThumb to browse pictures my hard drive went busy and everything
froze (system became totally unresponsive) for a couple of minutes.
